A Case of Pseudolymphoma of Ascending Colon

Abstract

|
55-year-old woman who complained of intermittent lower abdominal pain and vomiting
was admitted. Radiographic and colonoscopic findings in this patient could not conclusively
distinguish a benign from a malignant process in ascending colon. Colonscopic biopsy
showed no malignant cell. The patient underwent operation for confirmatory diagnosis and
treatment. The final patologic diagnosis of the resected lesion was pseudolymphoma of
ascending colon.
The etiology of pseudolymphoma is unknown. Of the gastrointestinal tract, stomach is the
most common site of involvement, and colon is rarely involved. We report a case of
pseudolymphoma of the ascending colon with review of literatures.
